Office Relationships

One of the ethical problems in the show we watched today was interoffice relationships. Marx says one of the problems with capitalism is alienation from other human beings or coworkers. He says that we view each other only as competition. Do you think he would support interoffice relationships, like referring to your coworkers as family, or having sex to get cheaper office supplies and free food for everyone?

This also would resolve another problem Marx has with capitalism like alienation from your species being. So, you would be acting the way you do outside of work at work.

  1. There are many ways that an office/ work environment can do away with alienation. It all depends on the type of work that people have, but at the same time, there should be laws and procedures put in place to keep people from getting on other people's nerves. People should have the freedom to feel proud about the work the do and be able to put in action their creative minds.

  2. I don't think he would be to happy about prostitution for the benefit of a company that has a main capitalist view to alienate you from your products, but he might like the idea of being a family with the people you work with instead of viewing them as competition could make a much better work environment, but not really the way the office showed it. They were really fake as a family.
